Now your little ankle biters can be seen in all of BAPE's colourful prints…and unlike us adult fans of BAPE, they may actually look age-appropriate! No need to get Carmen Sandiego on the case, BAPE kids is located smack dab in the middle of its own blossoming empire at Nara Bldg. 1F, 3-29-11 Jingumae (that's what addresses look like in Tokyo). You guessed it folks, Wonderwall's Masamichi Kataya is to thank for this one's design (yet again).
Getting them hooked at an even younger age, BAPE kids may potentially turn into every parent's nightmare. bright colours and cute characters have been known to have similar effects to LSD on most young impressionable children. And to their parents' dispair, the only known cure, growing up, just gives those overindulgent kids access to REAL drugs! However there will be a lucky few who will limit their jonesing to just enjoying the multi-coloured banana pit in the middle of the store.
Lucky for you, comparatively to its grownups collection, BAPE kids is reasonably priced...And for those parents with a kid that suffers from one of the nasty afore mentionned addictions, you'll need to save all the money you can! Most sneakers run for about 8,190 yen ($71 USD), and a miniature version of the infamous shark hoodie is 12,915 yen ($112 USD).
For those of you who haven't made the trip to Harajuku as of yet; the BAPE kids website was officially launched on August 1st. The website allows your troubled child to shop through all the wonders BAPE kids has to offer, in the comfort of his very own straight-jacket, cage, dungeon or whatever it is you overprotective parents use to keep him away from the harsh realities of the world
